Jessica Lynne Steadman Brown, 38, of Oakman, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Walker Baptist Medical Center.
Visitation will begin at 10 AM on Friday, July 22 at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM. Burial will take place at Midway Church of Christ. Mark Howell will officiate.
Jessica was a graduate of Walker High School and UAB-Walker College. After battling a long fight with cancer, she spent her last few days surrounded by family and friends. Jessica will continue to live-on through the love and kindness she taught to her 10 year-old son, Brooks.
She was preceded in death by her Brother-Jace Raymond Steadman, Father-James Lynn Steadman, Grandfather-Julian Smallwood and Great Grandparents-Curtis and Pernie Panter and John N. and Mildred Steadman.
She is survived by her Husband-Brandon Brown; Son-Brooks Brown; Mother-Jana Smallwood Kennedy (Brian); Sister-Kaiden Kennedy; Stepbrother-Zac Kennedy; Grandparents-June and Raymond Steadman and Fayree Smallwood; Great Uncles-Terrell “Uncle Tee” Panter (Veronica) and Wayne Steadman (Kay); Uncles-Russell Smallwood (Donna), Marc Smallwood, Matt Smallwood (Suzanne) and Aunt-Chandra Clark (Chris); Cousins-Jonathan Steadman, Amber Rodriguez, Stan, Shaw and Coleman Panter, Sawyer and Harden Smallwood, Carleigh Clark, Savanna, Sidney and Shelby Smallwood and Kaitlyn Smallwood.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society
