Jesse William “Bill” Foreman, Jr.,87, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 8, 2020, after a brief illness. Bill was born December 28, 1932. He loved math and science. He obtained a Bachelor of Science from Purdue University, a Master of Arts from Columbia University, and the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 1964 from Purdue University. He was a Professor in the Math and Physics Department at the University of Montevallo for many years. He worked for Teledyne Brown for many years and also contributed to various projects for NASA. In 1979, he moved his family to Huntsville, Alabama, where he retired years later. Bill believed in God and read his Bible every day. He was gentle in nature and soul, with a very caring heart and will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mary Woodard and Jesse William Foreman; his wife of more than 50 years, Elizabeth “Betty”; and his daughter, Sheri Jeanne Atkins.
Survivors include his daughter, Carol A. Ratliff (Scott); granddaughter, Elizabeth Anne Ratliff; grandsons, William Scott Ratliff (Caitlin), Patrick Saint, and Damien Hendrix; and great-grandchildren, Hugo Scott Ratliff and Lucille June Ratliff.
