Jesse Graham Garrett, Jr., 91, passed peacefully on April 15, 2023, at his home surrounded by family. He was the son of Graham and Ruth Garrett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, J.R. Garrett, Jack Garrett, Wayne Garrett, Don Garrett and Rex Garrett as well as one sister, Pat McConnell.
Jesse was born in Washington County, Virginia. Jesse served with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He served as a Deacon and faithful member of Hillwood Baptist Church.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 67 years, Phyllis Joan DeBusk Garrett; son, Rodney Garrett (Pamela) of Oviedo, Florida; daughter, Jessica Johnson (Bobby) of Huntsville, Alabama; two grandsons, Dr. Garrett Dunn (Andrea) of Athens, Alabama and Clark Dunn (Catherine) of Huntsville, Alabama; and two granddaughters, Juliana and Meredith Garrett of Oviedo, Florida.
There will be no public memorial service. A family only burial service will be held in Forest Hills Mausoleum in Abingdon, Virginia.
