Jesse David Mitchell, Jr., age 72 of Berry, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his residence. He retired from Alabama Power in 2007 after over 35 years work as an electrical engineer. He was a Navy veteran. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and Roll Tide Fan. He dearly loved Mitchell Mountain. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Collins-Burke Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Collins-Burke Chapel, with burial at Phillips Chapel Freewill Baptist Cemetery. Danny Turman and Paul Busby will officiate.
Mr. Mitchell was preceded in death by his Father-Jesse David Mitchell, Sr.; Mother-Ruth Gilbert Mitchell; Father-in-law-William David Montgomery; Mother-in-law-Hazel Watson Montgomery.
He is survived by his Wife-Sherry Montgomery Mitchell; Daughter-Kimberly Michelle Mitchell of Asheville, NC; Son-Jonathan David Mitchell of Corona, AL; Sister-Nina Stoker of Clewiston, FL; Brother-Tim Mitchell of Loradeo, TX; Grandchildren-Jaedon Mitchell, Seth Mitchell, William Sooy and Logan Sooy.
