Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Tapley, age 71, of Lineville will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville with Bro. Cory Sprayberry officiating. Burial will follow Ashland City Cemetery.

Mr. Tapley was born in Alabama, and lived in Clay County most of his life. He loved to work on cars and trucks and was a mechanic for most of his life. He had a passion for muscle cars and Harleys and loved being outdoors. Jerry was a great husband and father and adored his grands and great-grands. He had a great affection for dogs and often brought home strays.

He is survived by his wife Helen Sprayberry Tapley; daughters, Amy Tapley(Van) of Lanett and Brandi Tapley Clark(Kevin) of Delta; sons, Dewayne Tapley, David Tapley(Tracy) both of Lineville and Patrick Green of Delta; sisters, Darlene Finch of Anniston, Donna Smith(Ken) of delta, Sandy McCurry of Anniston and Barbara Blocker(Todd) of Sylacauga; brothers, Michael Tapley(Dorothy) of Lineville and Roger Tapley(Kathy) of Delta; 16 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Louise Tapley and a son Chad Tapley.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Tapley, Chase Phillips, Cody Tapley, Damian Clark, Jordan Gasaway, Jadon Phillips and Taylor Tapley. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger and Michael Tapley.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 6-8 at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.
