Jerry Wayne Stevenson, 69 of Ardmore, Alabama died on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his home.
Born Tuesday, September 28, 1943 in Ardmore, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Alton Stevenson and the late Alma King. He was a lifelong resident of the Ardmore area and was a Deacon of Wooley Springs Baptist Church. He enjoyed camping, his church and church family, and especially his kids and grandkids. He loved his Super A Farmall tractor. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Wooley Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 28025 Bethel Road, Toney, Al, 35773.
Surviving are his wife: Marie Tanner Stevenson of Ardmore, AL; sons, Kevin Stevenson of Decatur, AL and Jody Stevenson of Bowling Green, KY, twin brother, Perry (Nancy) Stevenson of Ardmore, AL, grandchildren Paige & David Posey, Tanner Stevenson, Courtney Pettus, and AJ Pettus, great-grandchild: Braylee Posey; honorary grandchildren: Leigh Bolling Dougherty, Drew Bolling, Erin Cornelison, Brooke Norton, Matthew Smith, and Ella Christopher, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 5, 2013, at Wooley Springs Baptist Church, Toney, AL with Bro. Tony Boyles officiating. Burial will be in Hasting Cemetery, Ardmore, AL.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at Wooley Springs Baptist Church, Toney, Alabama.
