Jerry Wayne Humphres of Halltown went to his heavenly home with Jesus on March 17, 2026. He was born to Vess and Dora Belle Humphres on October 27, 1947. He accepted Jesus on August 6, 1969. Jerry loved his Lord, his wife, his whole family more than himself. He loved to give gifts to others and enjoyed his farm and pulling jokes on people.
Funeral services will be Thursday, March 19, 6 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Harper officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, March 19, 4-6 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home. Burial will be in Halltown Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; his sons Kevin Humphres (Jody), Jeremy Humphres (Sabrina) and Ethan Humphres (Brittney); grandchildren, Austin Humphres (Jodie), Jessica Petree (Austin), Nash Humphres (Megan), Myka Humphres and Miriam Humphres; great-grandchildren, Elli, Cori, Collins Kay, Loralai, Ruthie Mae, Sutton and Bridger; brothers, Loyd Humphres (Brenda) and Hub Humphres (Paulette); sister, Verneese Holland; daughter-in-law, Mistie Robinson (Mike) and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Marvin Humphres; two sisters, Marie Holland and Oneda Parrish and his father and mother-in-law, Jess and Ruth Halcomb.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Austin and Nash Humphres and Austin Petree and nephews, Paul, Jason and Teddy Humphres.
He will be missed by his family, but he would say, “Don’t weep for me, join me in heaven where all pain and sorrow will be no more.”
