Jerry Wayne Blackmon, 74 of Arab Alabama died Monday December 26, 2016 at Huntsville Hospital.
Mr. Blackmon was born January 27, 1942 in Marshall County to Daniel H. Blackmon and Amy Cornelious Blackmon. He owned and operated Jerry Blackmon Trucking. He and the former Edna Rose Saint were married for 56 years. He lived in Arab all of his life and enjoyed Alabama Football and Nascar Racing.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Rose Blackmon; his sons and daughters-in-law: Tim Blackmon, Barry and Pam Blackmon and Roger and Linda Blackmon; sisters: Clara Mae Henson and Norma Jean Brock; his grandchildren: Kayla Campbell, Morhanne Blackmon, Jordanne Blackmon, Emma Rose Blackmon and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: Daniel and Amy Blackmon, his brothers: Max Blackmon, Clayton “Bill” Blackmon and a grandson Timothy Kyle Blackmon.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday December 30, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Brothers: Ralph McCollum and Dale Murphy, officiating. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery with Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel prior to the service.
