Jerry Thomas Miles, age 73, of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at his residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 6 o’clock pm, Saturday, April 3rd, at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Pleasant View with Rev. Bobby Mosley and Bro. Tom Payne officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-6:00PM on Saturday, April 3rd, prior to the funeral service.
Services will follow next week conducted by Hall & Jones Funeral Home in Virgie, KY with burial in the Annie E. Young cemetery in Pikeville, KY.
Jerry was born on May 11, 1947 to the late Tom & Billie Miles. He was retired from the United States Army with 23 years of service and was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he spent two years. After retiring from the U.S. Army, he was employed by and retired from the Veterans Administration in Nashville. Jerry loved to crappie fish and to hunt ginseng. He possessed a generous heart and was one of the most loving, caring, and loyal men that you will ever meet.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded by a brother, Scottie Miles.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Zelda Anne Prater Miles; sister-in-law, Jeanne Miles; his brothers and sisters by heart: Kernie Prater, Charles Prater, Wayne Simmons, Bill Ungerbuhler, Bobby Mosley, Thurman Carroll, Linda Simmons, Virgie Mosley, Ida Adkins, Glenda Ungerbuhler, Rosie Skeens; and his cousin & favorite “fishing buddy”, Jim Bruce.
