Mr. Jerry Thomas Bartee, 78, of Lacey’s Spring, Alabama, passed away peacefully at midday on Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at Huntsville Hospital. Born on March 10, 1947, in Huntsville, Alabama, Jerry was the cherished son of the late James Samuel Bartee and Mary Naomi Sides Bartee. He served as custodian to his beloved church.
Jerry was a quiet and humble man who lived a life filled with grace and integrity. He found deep joy and community within the congregation of the Lacey’s Spring United Methodist Church, which he dearly loved and supported. His passion for history reflected his appreciation of the stories and lessons of the past and his love of nature was displayed by his constant attention to the care and upkeep of his yard and flowers
As we honor his memory, we remember Jerry for his unwavering kindness, his gentle and humble spirit, and the legacy of love he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed by his friends, family, and those fortunate enough to have known him.
Jerry is survived by his brother, James Wyatt “Jimmy” Bartee and his niece, Ronessa Douglas. He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Bartee. The family has chosen to honor Jerry’s request for cremation and no formal services.
