Jerry Raylen Adams, age 78, of Lewisburg, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026, at his residence.

Jerry was born April 21, 1947, in Lewisburg, Tennessee, to the late Loyd Thomas and Elnora Gardner Adams. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Adams and a brother, Hugh Darryl Adams.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sherry Odum Adams; daughter, Robyn Few of Murfreesboro; son, Chase Adams of Ridgewood, NY; three grandchildren, Margaret, Amelia and Liam; brother Wayne Adams of Stevens Point, Wisconsin; sister, Dorothy Hoag of Nashville.

Jerry was a teacher in the Marshall County School system for over 30 years. He served as assistant football coach, girl’s softball coach and girl’s head basketball coach. After retiring from teaching, he worked for many years as the greens keeper at the Ewell Butler Golf Course at the Lewisburg Recreation Center. He was a longtime member of Lewisburg First United Methodist Church.
