Jerry Ray Reeves – Obituary

Mr. Jerry Ray Reeves left this world to go be with his Lord and Savior on April 28, 2017, after an extended illness. He passed with his family by his side. He was a life long residence of Lauderdale County. He was also a war veteran. He served his country with dignity and pride. He loved being outdoors. He owned his own diesel mechanic shop. He spent endless hours in providing for his family whom he loved with all his heart.

The visitation will be Sunday, April 30th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will be Monday, May 1st at 2:00 pm. In the funeral home chapel with Don McGuyer officiating. Interment will follow at Central Heights Community Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Poole, Calvin Burch, Preston Morris, Derrick Morris, Ricky Wilson, and Adam Burch. Honorary pallbearer will be Jackie Reeves.

He was preceded in death by his parents Elton “Browne” Reeves and Ophelia Phillips Reeves; brother, Quaine Reeves; sister, Eva Miller; nephew, Kenny Reeves, niece, Ronda Smith.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Ruth Reeves; daughter, Teresa Reeves Poole (Jimmy) son, Jeremy Reeves (Shelby); grandchildren Brooke Crews (Chris), Brianna Poole, Deven Reeves, brother Kenneth Reeves; sisters, Brenda Reeves, Lois Smith. Margaret Wilson, Louise Murks, many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family whishes to thank Amedisya Hospice and Dr. Pickett. Also, to Kristy Mann, Melissa Armstead, Brandi Curry, Dawn Kazimerczak and Kristen Howard.
