Jerry Martin Brown Obituary Mr. Jerry Martin Brown was born September 22, 1945 in Morgan County, AL to his parents Mr. Lewis Martin Brown and Mrs. Ossie Veola Murphy Brown Taylor. Mr. Martin spent his childhood in Morgan County Ala. Until his family relocated to Hardin County TN while still in his developmental years. He would develop a love for the outdoors enjoying the beautiful nature of the area. In his young adult years, he would bravely serve his country by joining the United States Army serving a tour of duty in Vietnam. He would meet and marry his wife Shirley Mae Murphy Brown in June of 1966 and the two made Olive Hill their forever home, raising their son and setting deep roots in Hardin County. Being a hard worker, he worked for many years as a sheet metal worker, and proudly served in the Army National Guard until his retirement. Mr. Brown was also community minded as he was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Clifton,TN. Being spiritually minded he attended the Olive Hill Baptist Church and visited the Crossroads Union Church in Savannah and was raised in the Baptist faith. In his leisure time he could be found watching Alabama Football, and his favorite classic westerns. However, he held no other time closest to his heart than the moments he spent with his family especially his grand children and great grandchildren. Mr. Jerry Martin Brown passed from this life on march 16, 2026 in Jackson, TN making his stay on this earth some 80 years, 5 months and 23 days.

 

Those left to honor his memory include his wife Mrs. Shirley Mae Murphy Brown; son Jeffrey Allen Brown wife Trina; grandsons Andrew Martin Brown wife Mercedes and Cody Brown all of Olive Hill, TN; great grandchildren Kamden Brown, Brynli Brown, William Brown, Whitley Brown, Levi Melson and Landon Barnett all of Olive Hill, TN; siblings James Monroe Brown and Martha Lavern Taylor of Savannah, TN; as well as nieces and nephews, family members and friends.

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Jeanette Hunt.

 

Funeral Services will be held Friday March 20 at 3:00 pm with Timmy Keen officiating, burial with military honors will be held after the funeral service at the Crossroads Union Church cemetery.

 

Visitation will begin Thursday March 18, 2026 from 5:00 pm till 8:00 pm and again on Friday March 19, 2026 from 10:00 am till 3:00 pm service time all at the Crossroads Union Church in Savannah, TN.
