Jerry M. (Spare) Carroll, born on September 5, 1935, in Adamsville, Tennessee, was the cherished son of the late Burny and Ruby Moore Carroll. He graduated from Adamsville High School 1953 and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Carroll dedicated many years of his life to public service, working as a constable in McNairy County and retiring as a deputy warden from the Department of Corrections in Nashville. His commitment to his community was evident through his military career, his work and his involvement with the American Legion in Adamsville.

On February 20, 2026, Spare passed away peacefully in Adamsville, TN at the age of 90 years, 5 months, and 15 days. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Palmer and husband Eddie of Dyersburg, Tennessee; grandchildren, Chris Ogden and his wife Kasey, and Butch Petty, as well as his step-grandchildren, Jeramie Palmer and wife Emily, Wilie Palmer and wife Emily, Jesse Palmer, and Andee Jackson and husband Hunter; several great-grandchildren and by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sister, Melba Barlow, and two brothers, Jimmy and Bobby Carroll.

His legacy of love and service will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
