Jerry Lynn Baskins (Lynn) was born on September 9, 1963 and left us to be with the Lord on November 24, 2014, following a brief battle with lung cancer. The funeral will be Wednesday, November 26th at 2:00p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. Kenny Baskins and Wayne Wood will be officiating. Interment will be in Rhodesville Cemetery.
Lynn was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Baskins and his father-in-law, Henry Norwood.
Lynn leaves behind his loving wife and best friend of 32 years, Patty Norwood Baskins, son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Samantha Baskins and two beautiful grandchildren, Evelyn and Guy Baskins. Also surviving are his mother, Lorene Joiner Baskins, brother, David Baskins (Sheila), Bobby Baskins (Vicky), and sister Shirley Baskins Dean (Rod), mother-in-law, Helen White Norwood, brother-in-law, Bud Norwood (Sonda) and sister-in-law, Marilyn Cummings (Billy), numerous nieces, nephews, and an abundance of family, friends, co-workers, and crew at Lash Refractory where Lynn was employed for 30 years.
The love, generosity, and kindness shown during Lynn’s illness will never be forgotten and each of you will have a special place in the hearts of our family. A special thanks to Dr. Felix Morris, Dr. Anthony Kalliath, Dr. Stanley Clarke, staff of 6th floor at ECM Hospital, and Gentiva Hospice.
Lynn was a member of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers. He was a loving and giving husband, dad, brother, son and Paw-Paw and will be missed by many.
Pallbearers will be Rob Joiner, Keith Joiner, Scotty Lanier, Mike Hamm, Mickey Hamm, and Wayne Dean.
Honorary pallbearers will be his co-workers at Lash Refractory.
