Jerry Lou Newsom, age 83 of Athens, Alabama passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Ardmore Nursing Home. Mrs. Newsom was born on June 30, 1933 in Indianapolis, Indiana to George and Martha Lundsford Snyder.
Mrs. Newsom is survived by her husband Thomas Newsom of Athens, AL; three daughters, Laura Feltner (Paul) of Fillmore, IN, Marcy Howard (Wade) of Wetumpka, AL and Lisa Stanley (Rusty) of Fillmore, IN; three sons, Jonathan Newsom (Nancy) of Summerville, SC, David Newsom of Dayton, OH and Mark Newsom (Julie) of San Antonio, TX; 16 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and numerous family and friends.
Mrs. Newsom’s favorite songs were Unforgettable by Nat King Cole and Somewhere over the Rainbow.
The family will be holding a memorial service at Refuge Church at a later date for Mrs. Newsom. Limestone Chapel Funeral Home is assisting the family.
