Jerry Lee “Tiger” Taylor, 74, passed away Monday, June 23, 2025 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born in Belmont, MS to Sidney Albert “June Bug” Taylor and Jenell Poole Taylor. He was a 1969 graduate of Tishomingo High School and was an employee for thirty years at Sunshine Mills. He was a member of Landmark Baptist Church, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He served in the Army National Guard.
Services will be Thursday, June 26, 11 a.m. at Forrest Grove Baptist Church, Tishomingo, MS with Bro. Matthew Haney and Bro. Robert Wood officiating. Visitation will begin Wednesday, June 25 at 6 p.m. until service time on Thursday, at Forest Grove Baptist Church. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Linda Ewing Taylor; a daughter, Michelle Goddard (Randy); a son, Jason Lee Taylor (Valorie); two grandsons, Brantley Goddard and Jay Taylor; one granddaughter, Brianna Taylor; one sister, Kathy Jean Rosser (Dexter); sisters-in-law, Angie Ewing and Donna Roberts; brother-in-law, Joe Ewing (Peggy) and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Orville and Ruth Ewing; sisters-in-law, Betty Haney and Kathy Poole; brothers-in-law, Donnie Haney, Curtis Roberts and Bob Ewing; great-nephew, Nicholas Spigner; grandparents, Albert and Edna Taylor and John W. and Annie Mae Poole and grandmother-in-law, Linnie Jane Wilson.
Pallbearers will be Michael Haney, Jonathan Haney, Daryl Ewing, Ben Spigner, Jay Taylor, Marlin Hutcheson and Kenn Hutcheson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Sunshine Mills.
