Mr. Jerry Lee Britt, age 83, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024 at his home. He was born March 1, 1941 in Henderson County to the late Richard Britt and Eva Britt Williams. He was a self-employed carpenter and loved to work. He loved his dogs and enjoyed his breakfast with his friends at Old Country Diner. He was known by many as the “Peach Man”, selling peaches from his orchard for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Britt, Arthur Williams, and Eva Britt Williams; his wife, Mrs. Martha Lou Britt; two sons, Terry Britt and Jack Britt; and five brothers, Houston, Eugene, Bill, Elton, and Lloyd Britt.
Survivors include his son, Jimmy Britt (Kelli); a sister, Pauline Bowman; seven grandchildren, Jessica Wilson (Kyle), Clint Britt, Brittany Frensley (Chase), Justin Britt (Rachel), Cody Umstead (Madeline), Clay Carver (Madison), and Tara Jones (Cameron); five great grandchildren, Ebby Britt, Jack Britt, Sullivan Fortner, Ada Frensley, and Parker Wilson; and daughter-in-law, Regina Britt.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM, Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington. Interment will follow in Palestine Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, 5-9 PM and on Wednesday, 10 AM – time of service at 1 PM.
