Jerry Lane Craft, 78 of Huntsville, AL passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, with his family by his side. Jerry was born on October 21, 1947, in Picayune, MS to James Edsel and Hazel Eloise Craft. He graduated from Picayune Memorial High school in 1966, and later in life obtained his degree in Computer Sciences at Athens State University.
Jerry married the love of his life, Marsha, on December 2, 1972, and they later welcomed 2 beautiful daughters, Colleen and Courtney.
Jerry worked for Lockheed Martin for 30 years but retired early to enjoy spending more time with his girls and indulging in his favorite hobbies. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and diehard Mississippi State football fan, although his greatest joy was becoming a “Papa” when his grandson, Lane, was born.
Jerry will be remembered as the most loving husband and proudest father and grandfather, whose life passion was to always take care of and provide for his wife, daughters and grandson.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Marsha Shields Craft; daughters, Colleen Elizabeth Craft and Courtney Lane O’Beirne (Brian); and grandson, Lane Allen Carter. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James “Jimmy” Edsel Craft, Jr.
He will be laid to rest in a private burial ceremony at New Palestine Cemetery in Picayune, MS with close family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Huntsville Hospital Hospice Family Care.
