Funeral service for Jerry Kyle Rackley Sr. age 69 of Hartselle will be Monday, December 16, 2013 at 1:00pm at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Earl Holt officiating with burial in the Johnson Chapel Cemetery with Military Honors and Peck Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 9:00pm Sunday night at the funeral home.
Mr. Rackley, who died on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at his home, was born August 1, 1944 in Decatur, Alabama to Jesse Kyle Rackley and Beatrice Nethery Rackley. He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He retired from Monsanto after 42 ½ years. He loved fishing, hunting, boating and especially enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years; Betty Rackley, two sons; Jimmy Rackley (Katie) of Moulton and Kyle Rackley (Amy) of Hartselle, a daughter; Donna Smith of Lynchburg,VA., one brother; John Rackley of Arley and two sisters; Nagatha Morgan of Hartselle and Peggy Barham of Elkmont, AL. 11 Grandchildren and 13 Great Grandchildren
Charles Howse, Louie Crow, Douglas Bailey, Sydney Stevenson, Doyle Ward and Donnie Lawrence will serve as pallbearers.
