Jerry Kenneth Glass – Obituary

JerryJerry Kenneth Glass, age 66, of Anderson, Ala., passed away Friday, March 29, 2013, from a long-term illness.
Jerry was an operating engineer at Reynold Alloys and Wise Alloys. He also owned Thunderhill Raceway. He coached football for Lexington mini-midgets for over 20 years. Jerry was a family man and loved spending time with his family. He loved coaching football and owning a racetrack.
Visitation will be Tuesday from noon–2 p.m. at Rogersville Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel with Jimmy Cox officiating. Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Brad Glass, Tim Newton, Eric Childers, Joe McAlpine, Wayne Burns, Lakin Newton, Dusty Purser and Ricky Butler; honorary pallbearer will be Larry Kennedy.
Mr. Glass was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Pauline Glass, brother, Robert Glass, sister, Judy Haraway, and niece, Delisa Glass.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandra Michael Glass; sons, Tim (Nicole) Glass, of Center Star, and Kenny Glass, of Anderson; daughters, Leslie Glass (Anthony) Purser, of Greenhill, and Amanda Glass, of Anderson; Mr. Glass was the paw-paw to eight grandchildren, Morgan, Jordan, Blane, D.J., Alexis, Trey, Anna Kate and Brody; sister, Arlene (Gene) Pirtle, of Rogersville; brother, Mannon (Lois) Glass, of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews.
