Jerry Jerome “Bone” Raines – Obituary

Jerry Jerome “Bone” Raines, 53, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice House following an extended illness. He was born January 18, 1965 to Jerry Dale Raines and Arnita McClellan Raines in Memphis, Tennessee. He was a self employed carpenter by trade that had an inventive spirit always finding ways to create new solutions to household problems. In his younger years he enjoyed fishing and animal trapping. Bone was a very gifted musician who enjoyed playing guitar, writing songs and singing. On October 31, 1986, he married the former Cathy Lester and together they have one daughter, Starlon.

Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 3 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at W. E. Pegues, Saltillo.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday June 13, 2016 at Saltillo Chapel of W. E. Pegues with Rev. Jay Stanley officiating. Burial will follow at Euclatubba Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Cathy Raines of Shannon formerly of Saltillo; daughter Starlon Davis and her husband, Clay of Shannon; granddaughter, Hannah Davis of Shannon; four sisters, Vilicia Woolard of Saltillo, Carlene Williams of Booneville, Darlene Raines of Saltillo and Jennifer Raines of Guntown; three brothers, Roland Glosson and his wife, Vicky, of Texas, Richard Raines and his wife, Mary, of Verona and Michael Raines of Guntown; close friend, Tommy Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jerry Dale Raines and Arnita McClellan Raines; grandparents, Ruby Billingsley, Joe Glosson, Elsie Raines and Curtis Raines and his great aunt and uncle who raised his father, Lonie and Richard Raines.

Pallbearers will be Steve Watson, Lawrence Watson, John Ellward, Austin Davis, Johnathan Raines and Devin Davis.

The service will be live streamed and recorded for those who may not be able to attend at www.peguesfuneralhome.com.
