Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Foxworth, age 76 of Delta, will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Bellview Baptist Church with Rev. Wayne Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery.
Mr. Foxworth passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at the UAB Hospital. He was born in Powder Springs, Georgia, was a graduate of McEachern High School, and lived most of his life as a Georgia Resident. He was drafted into the Army, served for 2 years and was stationed in Germany. He worked as a handyman doing tile work for a number of years, but worked for Pike E.M.C in Newnan, Georgia for 23 as a lineman and foreman until he retired in 1992. Mr. Foxworth was an artist, known for being able to draw and was a self-taught harmonica player. He was also known for his wood-working, making slingshots, walking canes, and other items. He enjoyed deer hunting and bow hunting, and enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Foxworth was a member of Bellview Baptist Church, taught Bible Study, and was a loving, good Christian man.
Mr. Foxworth is survived by his wife, Debra Foxworth of Delta; his daughter, Denise Hatfield (Mark) of Georgia; three granddaughters: Kayla Abell (Danny), Heather Ann Hatfield (Fiancé Gage Rumor), both of Georgia, and Brittany Hatfield (Zachary Appleby) of Albuquerque, NM; five great-grandchildren: Rylee, Colbie, Noah, Wren, and Colin; one brother, Gary Foxworth (Sue) of Woodstock, GA, plus other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Brandon Goble, Joey Higgins, Jimmy David, Joe Newborn, Mark Hatfield, Danny Abell, and Gage Rumor will serve as pallbearers.
His visitation will take place on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at Bellview Baptist Church from 12:00 P.M. until service time at 2:00 P.M.
