Jerry E. Jefferson, age 80, of Dora, passed away April 20, 2021. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert Jerome Jefferson and Mary Ellen Jefferson; infant son, Jerry E. Jefferson, Jr.; and brothers-in-law, Richard Adams, Terry Adams and Robert “Max” Graves. Jerry is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ginger D. Jefferson; sons, Timothy Jefferson (Brandi) and Bradley Jefferson; beloved grandsons, Braxton Jefferson and Braylen Jefferson; sisters, Patsy Graves and Tammy Thomas (Steve); brother, Larry Jefferson as well as a host of nieces and nephews that he loved very much. Jerry was a loving father, husband and Papa. He loved his wife dearly and had a very special relationship with his grandsons. They were his world. Jerry worked at Celotex as a Dry Felt Operator. He retired from Celotex after 30 years of service. Jerry serviced our country in the United States Army during the Vietnam Era. He also served in the Army National Guard. Jerry was a member of New Temple Baptist Church. Services for Jerry will be held at New Horizon Memorial Funeral Home on Friday, April 23, 2021. Visitation from 9-11am. Funeral service will begin in the chapel at 11am. Burial, with Military honors will follow at Forest Crest Cemetery. Bro. J.J. Creel and Bro. John Foles officiating.
