Jerry Carnice Gillespie, 72, passed away Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at his home in Pontotoc Mississippi. Jerry was a dedicated employee Arkell Springs/Leggett and Platt for 45 years, finishing his career there as plant manager. He attended church at Wellspring Church. Jerry loved his family dearly, especially Donna his wife who he took care of with a dedication unmatched. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and visiting the Amish community, many of whom were special friends.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 54 years Donna Gillespie, two sons, Chad Gillespie (Donna) and Jim Gillespie (Felicia), six grandchildren Jordan Gillespie (Ty), Audrey Gillespie, Anna Gillespie, Darby Childress, Shelby Childress, and Ana Clements, six great grandchildren, Rynn and Halen Gillespie, Layla, June, Logan, Cole, and Ella Walker, and sister, Barbara Hood (Jim).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carnice and Duane Gillespie, sister, Martha Ann Ferguson, and brother-in-law, Billy Ray Ferguson.
Services will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at Tutor Memorial funeral home in Pontotoc with Bro. Murray Galloway and Bro. Charles Wright officiating. Visitation will begin at 12 PM continuing to service time. Burial will follow in Cooke memorial cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Morris, Bubba Morris, Mitchell Tatum, Randy Roberts, Cody Riddle, and Rodney Garrison.
