Jerry Ann Bailes Ise passed from her family on July 2nd. Jerry Ann was born in Huntsville, Alabama, the only daughter of Imogene and Carl Bailes. She graduated from Huntsville High School in 1956 and later attended the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She began her secretarial career at NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Center’s Test Laboratory. Jerry Ann married the love of her life, Rein Ise, in 1960. She and Rein had their first child, Michael, in 1962 and she devoted the next nineteen years to raising her three children. Jerry Ann resumed her professional career in 1981 with NASA’s Space Shuttle Program, where she advanced to become Executive Assistant to the Space Shuttle Program Manager and later served as the Executive Assistant to the Marshall Center director. She was the recipient of NASA’s Distinguished and Exceptional Service Medals and retired from NASA in 1998.

While raising her family, Jerry Ann was a member of the Carillon and DuMidi Clubs, including service as the President of DuMidi. She also became a member of the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild, where she participated in the various Guild activities. She was a member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and enjoyed her family, gardening, travel, sewing and various other hobbies.

Jerry Ann is survived by her husband Rein and three children, Michael R. Ise, Andrea E. Nunn, and Carl A. Ise, and five grandchildren, Anna, Michael Rein, Christopher, Sven, and Charles.

Private services will be held.
