Jerry Alton Cox Jerry Alton Cox was born June 12, 1936 to Alton Rosevelt Cox and Lois Amanda Skinner Cox. He passed away at his home on January 3, 2021 surrounded by loved ones. Mr. Cox was a longtime resident of Madison County (Huntsville, AL). He was a 60+ year Electrical Union retiree from the I.B.E.W. Local 558 out of Sheffield, AL. He was very dedicated and supported all union business. He enjoyed working on projects and fixing things, watching old black and white movies, reading western books, working crypto quotes, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Cox was a devoted husband, loving father, and a wonderful grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survivors include son, Byron Keith Cox and Jeffrey Alton Cox (Brigtte); grandchildren, Lori Allison (Keith), Mandy Cox, Dustin Cox (Krystle), Nicholas Cox (Mary), Lisa Allen (Chris Sexton), Kayla Brady, Destiny Wininger (Kyle), Brittany Smith (Mark), Becca Deacon (Will Ikard), Natalie Cox and Mallory Cox; great-grandchildren, Cameron Sauerwein, Marley Partain, Kaisen Cox, Devin Cox, Nora Brady, Emelia Cox, Waylon Black, Alexander Curbow, Ashtin Price, Emmett Ikard, Ashtyn Ikard, Naomi Ikard, Reese Ikard, Khai Wininger, Dylan Allison and Logan Allison. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alton Rosevelt Cox and Lois Amanda Skinner Cox; his wife of 50 years, Margie Elizabeth Long Cox; son, Jerry Dale Cox, daughter-in-law, Deborah Darlene Turner Cox; daughter, Monda Dee Allen; son-in-law, Johnny Michael Allen; brothers, James C. Cox and Albert R. Cox (Jackie); and sisters, Imogene Phillips and Patsy Sparkman.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 noon in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Larry Conley officiating. Burial will in Faith Memorial Park.
