Jerry Allen Wylie, Teacher, Musician, and Artist died Friday, September 5, 2014 at his home in Florence, Ala. Jerry was born September 14, 1946 to Cecil E. Wylie and Reba Moore Wylie who preceded him in death.
Visitation will be Monday, September 8, 2014 from 12 – 2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. The funeral memorial service will follow immediately in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Greg Burnett officiating.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Melva Hannah Wylie; brother, Ronnie E. Wylie and wife Juanda, Florence; brother-in-law, Phillip Hannah and wife Lisa, Indianapolis, Ind.; nephews, Brian Wylie, Madison, Lucas Hannah, Indianapolis, Ind.; nieces, Denise Young of Pinson, Beverly Troullier of Trafford, Ala., and Lindsey H. White, Indianapolis, Ind.; and his precious pet, Sasha.
Jerry graduated from Coffee High School in 1964 and Florence State College (UNA) in 1968. He taught at Lexington High School for several years and then pursued his dream of living life as an artist.
Active pallbearers will be Vance Wesson, Brian Wylie, Tim Stevenson, Ron Day, Linda Day, Jimmy Williams, Ken Meredith, and Ricky Roberson.
Honorary pallbearers, Jonathan Troullier, Andrew Troullier, Lucas Hannah, Danny Maddox, and Justin Young.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John United Methodist Church, 457 County Road 7, Florence, AL 35633 or to the charity of your choice.
