Jerome Hyatt – Obituary

jeromeJerome Hyatt, 72, passed away Oct. 4, 2016, at ECM Hospital. He succumbed to a hard fought battle against cancer. The funeral will be today at 2 p.m. at Mt. Olievia MB Church, Muscle Shoals, with burial in Colbert Memorial Cemetery.

Jerome continued to work as a maintenance mechanic at American Wholesale Book Company until his health began to fail at which point he retired.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Amanda; grandson, C.J.; his parents; and many of his brothers and sisters.

He leaves to cherish his memories his faithful and loving wife, Barbara; daughters, Alisa (Deron) Young and Andrea (Elton) Jones; grandchildren, Jeremy, Jaleel, Kayla, Jalesa, and Elton (Tooky); his great-grandchildren, Braeden, Siara, Leah, and Aria; sisters, Marlene, Burmadene, and Yvonne; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many “adopted” children and grandchildren who affectionately referred to him as Paw Paw.

Jerome was a kind and friendly man who never met a stranger and would go above and beyond to help anyone who needed it. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
