Funeral for Jerl Leldon Stewart, 80, of Trinity will be Friday, March 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Steve Caudle and Johnny Mayes officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Congregational Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Stewart, who died Monday, March 17, 2014, was born January 24, 1934, in Caddo to Andrew and Pearl Stewart. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a retired city of Trinity reserve officer and millwright. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Roger Dale Stewart; two brothers, Quinton Stewart and Milton Stewart; and three sisters, Gladys Thurman, Julia Roberts and Mary Wade.
Survivors include his wife, Genevieve Stewart; three sons, Ray “Royce” Stewart, David Stewart and Gurley Stewart; one daughter, Shirley Norris; two brothers, Aulton Stewart and Preston Stewart; one sister, Clara Jenkins; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Stewart, Tyler Gillespie, Stefan Hill, Ian Hill, Allen Parker and Troy Terry.
