Obituary of Jerald Wayne Kimbrell Jerald Wayne Kimbrell, 78, of Athens, AL, formally of Eldridge, passed away at his residence, Sunday, July 30, 2023.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vonda Tittle Kimbrell, son Jerry Kimbrell, daughters Shannon Daughtry (Brandon) and Alison Madison (Nick); seven grandchildren: one grandson, Barrett Daughtry, six grand daughters, Katie Daughtry, Maddie Kimbrell, Mallory Kimbrell, Malia Kimbrell, Hadley Madison, Macee Kimbrell; one sister, Wanda Davis, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ted and Audrey Kimbrell, brothers James P. Kimbrell, Charles G. Kimbrell, Ted Kimbrell, Jr., and sister Sandra Kimbrell.

Mr. Kimbrell served in the United States Navy from 1965 to 1969. He worked for the Alabama Power Company at Gorgas Steam Plant for 38 years, where he retired in 2007. He moved to Athens, AL in 2010. During his retirement, he spent several years volunteering with the Alabama Baptist Disaster Relief. He was an active member at Fairview Baptist Church.

Visitation will be from 1:30pm until 3:30pm on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at McConnell Funeral Home. The funeral will be in the chapel at 3:30pm with Bro. John Butler, Pastor Glynn Webber and Bro. George Whitten officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery.
