Jenny Lou, a lifetime resident of Big Cove and Madison County, AL died peacefully after a short illness and flew on the wings of angels to her heavenly home on Monday. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Crawford and Grace Oldfield Miller, and her brothers, John Wesley and Paul Crawford, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Martha Jane Miller Tomb (Bill); nephews, Will Tomb, and Blair Tomb (Kathy); great nephew, Brooks Tomb; great niece, Amelia Tomb, all of Tennessee; sister in law, Carole Walker Miller of Leeds, AL; and numerous cousins that reside in the Huntsville area. Jenny was the youngest paternal grandchild of William Leroy Miller and Elizabeth Rumph Miller of Big Cove. She was the maternal granddaughter of John Oldfield and Edna Mae Pinkston Oldfield of west Huntsville.
Jenny was born with Down Syndrome but never allowed her limitations to slow her down. She was a delight to all who knew her as she had an infectious laugh, loved sock monkeys, good looking men, sparkly jewelry, red purses, Tom Jones (her favorite crooner) and dancing. She never met a stranger. Her sweet spirit was evident to all who knew her.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, December 2 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Big Cove Presbyterian Church, 145 Camp Ground Road, Brownsboro, AL 35741.
