Our beautiful Jennifer Roberts, 47, daughter, wife and mother to 3 children passed away unexpectedly on June 26, 2025, in Birmingham, AL leaving a void felt by us all.
Jennifer was born in Fort Walton Beach, FL in 1978 to Christopher G. Encardes and Marjorie Booker.
Jennifer attended Athens State University receiving her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She worked at Monrovia elementary for many years as substitute teacher, after school daycare program and was very active with the PTA. She loved the children and they loved her.
She was a devoted wife and mother, Christian 25, Breanna 22 and Abigail 10 were her world.
Jennifer is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents Gerald and Claire Encardes, her father Christopher G. Encardes, her half-brother Joshua, niece Ashlyn Encardes, uncles Kerry, David and Joey as well as maternal grandmother Maria Meltzer and uncle Neal Meltzer.
Jennifer is survived by her husband Charles Roberts, her children Christian, Breanna and Abigail, her maternal grandfather Harvey Meltzer, her mother Marjorie Booker (Ced), sister Amber as well as her brothers, Jason Encardes (Melissa), Jeremy Encardes, nephew Kyle and nieces Kira, Kaylee and Renee Barrows and Aunts Barbara Roach (Larry), Marsha Rongey, Marianne Pierce (JR), Donna Encardes, Maureen Lewis (Ron), Michelle Huston (John) along with cousins, Kevin, Alex and Nick Encardes and Uncle Steve Encardes (Jean-Anne) and step mother Jacque Encardes and many other cousins and friends.
Jennifer made so many friends that she felt were as close as family. The outpouring of love from her friends has been overwhelming and much appreciated and shows what kind of person she was.
Borrowing words from Ashley Sanders: “She was a kind person. She was gregarious. She was funny. She was genuine. And she was my friend. And even though I know it’s selfish – because I know she gave this life every ounce of herself she had to give and there just wasn’t anything left – I miss her spirit so very much, this world will never be the same.”
