Jennifer Lynn Griggs, aged 41, of Athens, passed away on Sunday, May 25th, 2025, at UAB Hospital. Born on May 1st, 1984, in Athens, Jennifer was the daughter of Steve and Charlotte Long Griggs.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved daughter, Madison Layne Griggs, who was the light of her life. Her parents, Steve and Charlotte Griggs, also survive her, along with her sister and best friend, Jessica Moore, and brother-in-law, Tristan. She was a loving aunt to her nephews, Nolan and Gavin Moore, who remember her fondly. Jennifer’s family circle was made complete by her pet, Layla, and her bonus mom, Martha Long, who shared a special bond with her. She is also survived by an extended family of several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Jennifer will be held on Friday, May 30th, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, officiated by Jerry Clark. Jennifer’s family invites friends and loved ones to join them in celebrating her life and cherishing the memories they shared with her. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Jennifer’s memory to the Bank Independent Rachel Weir Benefit Fund.
