Jennifer Leigh Rigby, 31, found rest and full restoration after years of struggle with Moyamoya disease. Jenny died Jan. 3, 2023 at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Tx. after an apparent stroke. Jenny was born in Shreveport, La. on June 3, l991 to Joel Lamar Rigby, M.D. and Vickie Underwood Rigby. She and her family moved to Tupelo in l992 and later moved to the Rigby Family Farm in Plantersville in l997. She began kindergarten at Joyner School, attended Tupelo Christian Prepatory School for 2nd thru 8th grade and attended Tupelo High School. Jenny was a star student at Itawamba Community College where she studied computer programming and data processing. She was initiated into the prestigious fraternity, Phi Theta Kappa, serving as President. She worked as a computer programmer and moved to Fort Worth several years ago where she worked in Cyber security, until her health began to fail. Even then, her skills were so perfected and excellent, she worked part time and independently writing computer programs for small businesses. Laid back and informal, Jenny enjoyed computer games, her friends and family and her boyfriend, Rafael “Raph” Aghayere of Fort Worth.
A memorial service celebrating her journey will be held at 2 PM Saturday, Jan. 21, 2023 at the Sadie M. Holland Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Danny Balint officiating. Private burial will be at Tupelo Memorial Park on Joyner. Visitation will be from 1 PM-service time on Saturday only at the funeral home. Jenny is survived by her mother and dad, Dr. Joel Rigby and Vicki Rigby of Plantersville; her brothers, Joel Lamar “Jay” Rigby, II and James Nathan Rigby both of Plantersville. her uncles and aunts, Lee Rigby (Terri), Dean Rigby (June) and Terry Underwood (Brenda) all of the Lake Charles, La area and their extended families; her boyfriend, Raph Aghayere of Fort Worth, Tx. She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her brother, Nathan in l998.
