Jennie Felker Green, 99, passed away December 10, 2013, at Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Born on September 22, 1914, to Jimmy and Vera Mankins Felker, she is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herschel Green, brother, John Felker, and sister, Maggie Davis.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna Townsend, her son-in-law, who was like a son to her, Joe Paul Townsend, and her granddaughter, Jennifer Townsend, who was her pride and joy.
Other survivors are two stepdaughters and their families, Doris Green James of Columbia, Tennessee, and Dot Green Warf (Lloyd) of Lynnville, Tennessee. She also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.
She was a member of West Hobbs Street Church of Christ after moving to Athens over 25 years ago. Before moving to Athens, she was an active member of the Booth Chapel Church of Christ in Minor Hill, Tennessee.
Her funeral will be Saturday, December 14, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Spry Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Minor Hill Cemetery.Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
