Jearl Murphy McKenzie, age 78, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2021, in Lexington. Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill, with burial to follow In Pafford Scotts Hill Cemetery. Mrs. McKenzie was born July 16, 1942, in McNairy County, Tennessee, to the late James Cecil Murphy and Eva Irene Moore Murphy. She was a retired office manager for Lexington Electric System, and had also retired from McKenzie Tree Service. She was a member of Parsons Church of Christ. She loved Lady Volunteers sports, and enjoyed travelling. Mrs. McKenzie loved her family dearly and always enjoyed going to their games.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by two brothers Buddy Murphy, and Doyle Murphy; two sisters, Lila Dean Murphy and Patty Murphy; a son-in-law, Brad Lewis.
Mrs. McKenzie is survived by her husband of 56 years, Fate McKenzie, two sons, Dennis McKenzie (Amy), and Mark McKenzie (Amy); a daughter, Patti Tubbs (Marty); a brother, Bobby Murphy; eight grandchildren: Ethan McKenzie (Andrea), Grant McKenzie (Kailey), Mackenzie Lewis, Nathan Tubbs, Paige McKenzie, Jace McKenzie, Blake McKenzie, Anna McKenzie; three great grandchildren, Caroline McKenzie, Ava Rhodes, Alexis Blackstock; and two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation for Mrs. McKenzie will be from on Saturday, March 13, at Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., and on Sunday beginning at 11:30 until time for the service.
