Jeannie Marie Hargett was born on October 19, 1926 to Earl and Lula Wroten in Mississippi.
In 1941, Marie met Linnie Hargett and they married in
1943, just as he was leaving for the war. They had two
children, Richard and Jeannie. The Hargetts moved all
over the Tennessee Valley, where Marie met plenty of
friends over the years. In 1970, they settled in
Hamilton, Alabama. Over the years, she worked
helping Linnie in his businesses, as a secretary, an
advocate of Maywood Christian Camp and a hospital
switchboard operator.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Linnie
Frasier Hargett; daughter, Kristie Lynn Hargett; son,
Richard Frasier Hargett; parents, Earl Thomas (E.T.)
and Lula Wroten.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Bruce)
Miller of Hamilton; grandchildren, Lynn (Brad) Hatcher,
Ricky Hargett, Brett (Misty) Miller, Emily (Jason)
Peterson, Lindsey (Nick) Pritchard; great-grandchildren,
Sarah Paxton (Garrett) Fowler, Miller Peterson, Jackson
Hatcher, Sawyer Peterson, Hadley Cate Peterson, Will
Pritchard, Thatcher Peterson, Campbell Peterson, Anne
Marie Pritchard; great-great grandchildren, Avery Ann
Fowler.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at
Marion County Funeral Home, Hamilton from 1-2:30
pm. The funeral service will be held following the
visitation with Ryan Gallagher, Todd Clippard and Dale
Jenkins officiating. Internment will be in Corinth
National Cemetery, Corinth, Mississippi.
