Jeannie Luna Guffey passed away Friday, July 17, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Doris Luna, her brother Buddy Luna, and sister Georgia Crabtree.
A life richly filled with love, Mrs. Guffey—affectionately known as “Nonna” to so many—was surrounded by her family during her final days. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to the care of her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the heartbeat of her family, providing a sense of stability, comfort, and steadfast love. Known for being an exceptional cook, her home was a place where family and friends gathered around the table, sharing meals, telling stories and making memories that are treasured.
In her final days, she was lovingly cared for by her oldest granddaughter, Grace, whose devotion was a reflection of the deep love and close bond they shared. She was also surrounded by the unwavering love of her son, Scott, and her devoted husband, “Pop,” who never left her side, providing comfort, strength, and constant companionship until the very end.
She leaves behind her husband of 56 years, Ronnie Guffey. Her children: Jody (Carol), Buddy (Megan), Scott, Kristie (Curtis). Her 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. As well as her sister and brother-in-law Harriet and John Dempsey.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026 from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Spry Funeral Home of Huntsville. Services will follow the visitation at 2:00 pm in the Spry Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Brandon officiating. Burial will take place in Maple Hill Cemetery.
