Jeanne Barrett Hargett, 85, of Russellville, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013, at Russellville Hospital.
Mrs. Hargett was a lifelong resident of Russellville, a homemaker and a member of Russellville First Baptist Church. She was a published author of more than 200 children’s stories and poems and a member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators.
The funeral service will be Monday, December 16, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at Pinkard Funeral Home Chapel, Russellville, with burial in Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Officiating will be Dr. Phil Newton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m.
Survivors include husband, George Hargett; sons, Chris (Virginia) Hargett, Northport, AL, Jeff (Debbie) Hargett, Rome, GA, Brian Hargett, Tupelo, MS; daughter-in-law, Jody Hargett, Bolingbrook, IL; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, John and Mattie Barrett; son, David Hargett; two sisters and two brothers.
