Jeanine LaBelle Shaffer, age 95 of Madison, passed away Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, TN. There will be a private family burial at Bordeaux Adventist Memorial Gardens on Friday, March 26th.
She was born in Lancaster, Ontario, Canada on March 15, 1926 to the late Joseph and Claire Chateline LaBelle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Shaffer; son, Lawrence Townsend; brothers, Maurice LaBelle and Richard LaBelle.
She was a member of the Ridgetop Seventh Day Adventist Church and was a homemaker and a seamstress. She enjoyed gardening, working with and showing butterflies (Monarch), baking and sewing.
She is survived by sons, Daniel Townsend of Haiti, Dale (Janet) Townsend of Hayward, CA, Timothy (Cathy) Townsend of Madison, TN; daughter, Jean (John) Alizor of Nigeria; grandchildren, Eric Townsend and Amanda (Tommy) Brown. Online condolences may be made at www.austinandbell.com
