Jean Phillips Bridges departed this life on Sunday, December 13, 2020, at the age of 98 years, 2 months, and 18 days. She was born in McNairy County, Tennessee on September 25, 1922, the daughter of the late John P. and Vonnie Hopper Phillips. On September 14, 1940, she was united in marriage to Raymond Ray Bridges, who preceded her in death on June 23, 2004.
For several years, Jean had worked at Garan Manufacturing in Adamsville, Tennessee. She was a member of Milledgeville United Methodist Church.
Jean is survived by her children, James Philip “Phil” Bridges of Sardis, Tennessee, David Ray Bridges of Orange, Texas, and Patricia Ann Smith of Milledgeville, Tennessee; 11 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Bobbie Phillips and Wilma Phillips.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Jean was preceded in death by her one grandchild; one great grandchild; brothers, John R. Phillips and Jimmy C. Phillips; and sisters, Mary Nell Phillips Jones, Patsy J. Phillips, June C. Phillips, and Bunnah Phillips Finney.
The family requests that masks be worn, and social distancing be practiced at both the visitation and the funeral service.
