Graveside Services for Jean Gibson Padgett, age 89, of Ashland will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at 3:00 PM at Clay County Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Padgett was born in Clay County and graduated from Clay County High School in 1954. She retired from Russell Mills and so enjoyed spending those days with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jean was a faithful and active member at 1st Baptist Church of Ashland for many years.
She is survived by her children, Phillip Avery Padgett and wife Tammy and Alta Kee Padgett and husband Stanley Clarke; 5 grandchildren, Lyndsey Strain(Stephen), Loren Hall(Zack), Lesli Craven(Taylor) Abigail Puckett(Benjamin) and Jackson Goostree; 5 great-grandchildren, Mark Strain, Luke Strain, Anna Strain, Ebbie Craven and Emma Hall; several nieces and nephews and other extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Vestie Gibson, her husband, Alton Hanson Padgett, son, Rodney Andrew Padgett and 5 siblings.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Strain, Mark Strain, Luke Strain, Taylor Craven, Zack Hall and Benjamin Puckett.
The family will receive friends Sunday, April 19, 2026 from 1:30 until 3:00 at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland.
