Mrs. Jean Elizabeth DuBose, age 94, of Vernon, AL, passed away Monday, February 9, 2026, at Fayette Long Term Care.
Mrs. DuBose was born April 14, 1931, in Amory, MS, to the late Jasper and Nettie Corbett Yerby. She was a homemaker, and was married to the late Edd Cain DuBose. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Peggy Caraway, and two half-sisters, Neva McCowan and Edna Mitchell.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 13, at 3:00 PM, at the First Free Will Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Beckon and Bro. Mike Dankson officiating. Burial will follow at the Liberty Free Will Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 at the church prior to the service.
Survivors include two daughters, Amanda (Mike) Freeman and Karla (Greg) Norton; one son, Wesley (Deborah) DuBose; eight grandchildren, Myra (John David) Slayton, Jonathan (Katlyn) Norton, Andrew (Kelsey Rainwater) Norton, Justin (Jessica) Freeman, Jonas (Kayla) Freeman, Jessica (Nathan) McCraw, John (Casey) Coats, and Ashley Analia Sebrenik; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother, Charles (Mary) Yerby; and a host of other family and friends.
