Jean Elizabeth “Beth” Briscoe Austin, 62 of Joppa passed away Saturday, August 16, 2025, at her residence. She was born July 28, 1963, the daughter of John Hugh Briscoe, Sr. and Jean Scofield Briscoe. She was a graduate of Fairview High School and married to Michael O’Neal Austin, Jr., who passed away December 24, 2021.

She is survived by son: Paden Smith (Shayla); daughter: Cassie Jackson; grandchildren: Gavin and Connor; brother: John Briscoe, Jr.; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. She was preceded in death by husband: Michael Austin, daughter: Ryan Nicole Smith, parents: John and Jean Briscoe, sisters: Wanda Jean Malone and Jan Briscoe Flynt.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Tim Kinney officiating. The burial will be in Corinth Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing.
Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
Pallbearers: Paden Smith, Cassie Jackson, Gavin Smith, Danny Scofield, Blake Sparks and Tim Brockwell.
