Jean Darby, 64, of Florence, passed away on October 21, 2017 at Eliza Coffee Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. She was a member of Woodmont Baptist Church and the Alabama Bar Association.
Visitation will be at Greenview Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 9-10:30 a.m. followed by a private family graveside with Joe Van Dyke officiating.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Franklin Darby, Sr. and Rubye Ada Cypert Darby; grandmother, Velma Maude Darby and grandfather, James Johnson Darby.
Survivors include her brother, John Franklin Darby, Jr.; sister, Marsha Hanbery (William L.); niece, Kate Hanbery; nephew, Chan Darby (Amanda) all of Florence and nephew, Danny Hanbery of Duluth, GA, cousins and many friends.
Serving as honorary pallbearers will be members of the Lauderdale County and the Alabama Bar Association.
The family would like to extend special thanks to dear friends, Pam and Debbie Floyd. A special thanks also goes to, Dr. Heaton, Dr. Cole and the doctors and nurses in CCU at ECM Hospital for the outstanding care and compassion during this difficult time.
