Jean Crafts, aged 87, of Athens, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 21st, 2025, at Limestone Nursing and Rehab. Born on January 8th, 1938, in Alabama, she was the daughter of Alton C. Rogers and Elsie Wade Rogers, and second mother Inez C. Rogers.
Jean is lovingly remembered by her children: James R. Crafts, Gary D. Crafts and his wife Debby, and Gerald W. Crafts and his wife Wanda. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Mary Beth Toone and her husband Shawn, Will Crafts, Scott W. Crafts and his wife Monica, and Brittany Crafts Williams and her husband Joel. Jean also leaves behind her beloved great-grandchildren: Ryder, Annsley, and Wyatt Toone, Rory Crafts, as well as Elijah, Ezra, and Malachi Williams. She is also survived by her brother Randal Rogers and his wife Carolyn.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Alton C. Rogers and Elsie Wade Rogers, and Inez C. Rogers.
To honor Jean’s wishes, a private graveside service will be held.
Jean had a profound love for dogs, which brought her immense joy and companionship throughout her life. Jean Crafts will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
