Jean Collins Banks, age 83, of Leighton, AL passed away Friday, January 1, 2016. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 05, 2016 from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel. Funeral service will be at Leighton Baptist Church Wednesday, January 06, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Mrs. Banks will lie in state from 10:00 a.m.- 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Banks was a member of Leighton Baptist Church, Lifewise volunteer at Shoals Hospital. Jean was a beloved mother,grandmother and great grandermother.
She was preceded in death by husband Wendell Banks; parents, Obe and Maggie Collins; brothers, Willard Collins, James “Doogie” Collins; sisters, Lillian Lloyd, and Ruth Lawler.
Survivors are sons, Ronald E. Banks (Ronna) and Rick Banks; grandchildren, Courtney Goertz (Chad), Brandy Holliman (Shane), Andrew Banks (Lauren), Ashley Taylor (Clinton), and Lauren Warren (Kyle); great grandchildren, Kylie, Randy, Liam, Kaylee, Kaden, Kaeden, Kylie, Aila, Layla, Eli, and Caroline.
Pallbearers will be Andrew Banks, Shane Holliman, Ventice Davis, Chuck Lawler, Stephen Lawler, and Larry Banks.
A special thanks to Alacare Hospice nurses, Stephanie, Whitney, and Julie for the love and care given to our dear mother.
