Funeral service for Jay Gordon Dunn, age 72, of Somerville will be Friday, July 5, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Jason Moore officiating. The family will receive friends for two hours prior to the service. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Dunn, who died Tuesday, July 2, 2013, at Huntsville Hospital, was born January 27, 1941, in Pace, Miss., to Theo Dunn and Laverne Standridge Dunn. He worked as a driver for Coca-Cola Bottling Company. He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Dunn.
He is survived by two daughters, Lori Couch and Christy Childers (Johnny), both of Decatur; one brother, one sister, four grand- sons and one great-granddaughter.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Couch, Ty Dunn, Payton Dunn, Gene Ball, Bobby Barnes and Mark Hatfield.
