Jay Adrian Kritsch, age 60, of Springfield, passed away Thursday, February 5, 2026. Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, February 14th in the chapel of the Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield with Bro. Donnie King and Bro. Bob Hargrove officiating. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery with Adam Kritsch, Richard Beirne, Mike Bell, Preston Carr, Josh Mooneyhan, Richie Osborne, Perry Simpson and Terry Smith serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 4-8pm Friday, and again from 1-2pm Saturday at the funeral home.
Mr. Kritsch was born July 17, 1965, in Richmond, IN, to the late Richard Eugene “Dick” Kritsch and the late Lorena Mae York Kritsch. He graduated from auto diesel college and was employed by the JM & A Group where he worked as a Fixed Operations Consultant for many years. Mr. Kritsch also refereed for the TSSAA for 20 plus years, coached little league baseball and led his team to the world series. He loved cars, deep sea fishing, riding his side by side and spending time with his grandkids. Jay attended Martins Chapel Church and was all about having fun to the extreme and really enjoyed life.
He is survived by his son, Adam (Lilly) Kritsch of Tampa, FL; daughter, Olivia Kritsch of Springfield; grandchildren, Jayden, Avery and Jaxden; and his sister, Leah Kritsch of Springfield.
